Hello runners! If you are coming visit Lisbon and are wondering whether to bring your running shoes, please do, you won’t regret it! Check below the best itineraries, depending on the distance and type of training you want to do.
By the river
Distance from 1km to 40km, no ups and downs
The river is a very important part of Lisbon, some of the well known postcards of the city are there, such as the ‘Padrão dos Descobrimentos’ and Belém Tower. Nothing better than to have your morning run passing these cultural marks. If you wish to make a longer distance, take the train to Carcavelos or Cascais and come back running. It is one of the most pleasant areas to run in the city.
Jamor Stadium Park
Distance from 1km to 10km, possibility of having ups and downs, velocity tracks
Jamor is a sports complex just outside Lisbon, next to the sea, where you can find great conditions to a big variety of different sports. From golf, to football, to tennis, and of course, running. There is a small lake, for SUP and kayaking. There are classes for kids and adults, and some courts you can simply enter and use as you wish. Inside the complex, you can find 2 tracks for speed practice, a trail itinerary inside the woods with 4 kms (two ways), and obviously you can run inside the complex, in the middle of the camps and along the lake.
University City Stadium
Distance from 1km to 10km, velocity tracks
It is a smaller version of the Jamor complex, without the views. However, for smaller distances it is ok.
Great runnings! 🙂
